A customer landing on your website – effectively your online shop window – will make up their mind about you in a fraction of a second. If they don’t like what they see, they won’t hesitate to backtrack and look elsewhere for what they want. Of course design and copy go hand-in-hand when making a website powerful, but how exactly do you encourage people to stick around for as long as possible?

Well good web copy depends on two things – understanding your customer and knowing your product or service inside and out. Compelling copy is the glue that holds a good design together – it needs to be relevant, easy to read, and should avoid too much technical information and jargon. And, if the appropriate amount of keywords are incorporated, it’s likely to improve your business’s search engine ranking too, make you more visible amongst your competition, and increase the chance of someone clicking onto your site.
